Again we need to take photos from the same spot (hindsight is 20/20) but as you can see Tanya’s progress has been phenomenal since joining CKO! During the 10-week challenge Tanya lost 14-lbs and 4.5-inches off her waist!

We asked the participants (optional) of the 10-week challenge if they wanted to share their own results/personal success story and below is Tanya Faley’s results/story of not only her CKO 10-week challenge experience but her fitness journey over the last 10-years. Tanya started at CKO Seattle on day 1 (July 7, 2012) and her transformation over the 5-months at CKO is outstanding!

Tanya’s Story below:

After my kids were born, I had a hard time losing the weight my back to back pregnancies brought. In 2002, I joined a gym and started a kickboxing class. I attended this class for 2 years and in addition to eating better, dropped 35 pounds and felt the best I ever had. Then, in 2004, a car accident, a move to another town and a full time sit down job caused my weight to climb again. It was a few years before I could exercise fully again due to the car accident and by that time, I had gained so much weight, I didn’t feel like trying to lose it. In 2008, we moved to Shoreline and I was at my heaviest. In 2009, some friends at work talked me into running with them and through that training and a radical eating plan ( The Fat Flush diet), I lost 15 pounds in 2 months. Over the next few years, I kept running and competing in races, but was not watching what I was eating and my weight crept back up. My running was taking more effort for lackluster results and I was getting injured more than I was healthy. In the spring of 2012, I heard about CKO Kickboxing and that a gym was going to open in Shoreline. I had not been able to find a kickboxing program that fit into my schedule, was cost effective and would be rewarding for me to attend, so I was excited to see to try this new place. I tried CKO and I was transported back to 2002 when I fell in love with true cardio kickboxing and the results it gave me (for the effort I put in). I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join CKO!

I participated in the 10 week challenge at CKO that just ended. In that 10 weeks, I lost 14 lbs, took 4 1/2 inches off my waist and I feel great! I have more energy, I am stronger and my running has also improved. I recently ran a 1/2 marathon and got a personal record that was 5 minutes faster than my record a year ago. I know this is because of CKO. The classes have increased my endurance and stamina and in the end, I can run faster and longer.

I am not where I need to be as far as health and weight, but CKO is helping me achieve my goals and I look forward to the journey I am on for a happy, healthy lifestyle.
