==========================================================================================

Meet Lynda Beddall, a mother or 5, a bookkeeper, a wife, an athlete, a role model, and a certified BADASS. If anyone on the planet could use the excuse “I don’t have enough time” it would be Lynda, however despite have one of the most insane schedules she manages to excel at whatever she pursues.

Thank you Lynda for being a great example of the philosophy; “if it is important, you will make time”! You work ethic is nothing short of inspirational!!!

To hear more about her challenge read her interview below.

March 2016 - May 2016

March 2016 – May 2016

Besides being an absolute warrior in the gym, what is your day job?

I’m a bookkeeper for a property management company who also happens to be a super mom to 5 awesome kids and wife to the most amazing man in the WORLD.

Do you have any hobbies?

I love playing soccer, softball, mud runs, relaxing with the fam and shockingly gardening!

How did you learn about the challenge and was it a hard decision to sign up?

This is actually my 4th time conquering the 10 week challenge (read about other challenges here and here). Each time I’ve learned something new to add to my arsenal of tricks to keep this challenge going in real life! This has never been a tough decision for me. I always want to learn how to get stronger and smarted thru my fitness journey. -Alway Happy Never Satisfied, right?

What was your favorite aspect of the challenge?

I’ve said it each time and it’s still 100% true for me… It’s the community that this 10 week challenge creates. Its such an amazing bonding experience knowing that you’re pushing towards the same goals as your team. It’s truly makes the whole experience worth it.

What was the hardest part about the challenge?

Balance, Balance, Balance… Every time I think I’ve “got it down” something else comes into play. The very first challenge I completed the hard part was the workouts… The second and third challenge the difficult part was eating clean, and this time I thought I’d have everything down to a science but surprisingly I am still learning about balance… Eat the right amounts of carbs and protein but also making sure I’m getting enough sleep! Something I never realized would
play such a factor in my results. You think, huh… Sleep — something so easy to control right? Well, as a mother of 5 my schedule fluctuates so much with bedtimes, evening / morning workouts, sports, and etc. So this challenge has brought me to realize that it’s a process and I will have to continue to learn and evolve into the best me possible by taking everything I’ve learned and making it benefit me in my real day to day life.

What motivates you to walk through that door day after day and continue to push yourself?

My family has always been and will continue to be my “why” I push myself. I want to show my kids that working hard is the only way to get what you want in life, and to see how beautiful your life can be when you’re happy and healthy.

What’s one thing you still find yourself struggling with?

The scale… I HATE that freaken scale. This challenge was definitely a reminder to me how much I battle with the weigh in process. We’ve been told our whole lives that’s the best way to measure yourself is by your weight and what’s “normal” or “healthy” for our height. Well, damn it I will not allow one form of measurement be the judge of how hard I bust my butt in the gym and how hard I’ve worked in the kitchen to avoid and refrain from eating, x y or z… I will probably always struggle with this but the scale doesn’t know how much stronger I am now then I used to be, or how much better my clothes fit. So this one is a mental game that I will have to continue to work on.

What would your advice be to some considering doing a 10 week challenge?

I would recommend anyone to do it and believe in yourself. You will be given the tools to make it work — you just have to do it and trust the process.

Have you tried any other challenges (with our gym or another)- if so what made this one different?

Yes, this is my 4th challenge with CKO / 2pt0. This challenge was different for me this time because it helped me realize that I’m not just in this to be skinny or lose X amount of lbs. I’m in this lifestyle to live a full life of badassery! I was made for this… I love it and want to continue to take stride to be the best badass version of myself!

What can we do better to help you actualize your true potential?

Just to continue providing a well rounded program that includes not just the workouts but the nutrition and community aspects. I truly feel that it helps set us up for success.

Share any relevant information you’d like about yourself that other team members might not know about you!

I’m pretty much an open book… For those who know me, know I’ve struggled with fitness my whole life. I’ve never been the strongest or the fastest, but I’ve never allowed that to stop me. I was once almost 200 lbs and was horribly depressed with my life, my body and my mental state… I’ve had many detours on my path to fitness, with pregnancies, injuries and healthy issues. Its very hard to admit but I honestly struggle to stay on track and I’m VERY hard on myself when I hit a bump in the road. The saying, “you are your hardest critic” couldn’t be more true for me… It can extremely destructive to my progress to the point where I have to remind myself of my “why” and regroup. I constantly tell myself, You Can Do This… Doubting yourself isn’t going to make it any easier… Believing WILL!

10-Week Challenge Results (Lynda Beddall)

If you are looking for the best program to make a complete healthy lifestyle transformation, look no further than the 10-week challenge.

==========================================================================================

If we had a list of amazing members Lynda Beddall would definitely be on said list! She has been with both CKO and 2.0 from their beginnings, and she is amazing because she never complains or makes excuses, she just works hard! It’s AWESOME! And the results speak for themselves…

(Check out Lynda’s 2014 challenge results: Lynda’s 2014 10-week challenge results)

Lynda (3rd from left) –Has no time for sleep. She will “sleep when she is dead”

Lynda has had amazing success over the last several years and this last 10-weeks challenge was no exception. Over the course of the 10-weeks Lynda lost 24.5-inches and 9-lbs! She also increased her pushups (in 2-mins) by 11, her goblet squat (in 2-mins) by 13, her sit-ups (in 2-min) by 8, and her pull-ups (using the blue band) by 5!

In addition to all this, I believe Lynda, also has, the best time management skills in the entire world! She is a mother of 5, works a full time job, play’s soccer and softball, competes in mud runs, and still workouts out (at one of our gyms) nearly everyday! It is amazing!

Check out Lynda’s story below.

Lynda post recovery of an Achilles rupture (around 2013)!

How did you learn about the challenge and was it a hard decision to sign up? I’ve been a member of CKO since they opened so this was actually my 3rd time conquering the 10-week challenge! Each time I learn something new to add to my arsenal of healthy tricks, and each time I’ve had amazing results! Next for me is to keep on track during the holiday season and not get side tracked with life and loose sight of how far I’ve come! It’s a lot harder to keep it up when you don’t have the accountability of the trainers and nutritionist keeping you focused… This challenge is structured to get started on your journey, and it’s hard work but let’s face it — life is always gonna get in the way from time to time so you have to decide, how bad do you want it?!

What was your favorite aspect of the challenge?
Its hands down the community!! The group of people you meet during this challenge always astonishes me and I’m no newbie at this… You meet so many different people who are fighting the same fight as you. Pushing towards the same goals and supporting each other thru every step of the journey, and that is priceless!

What was the hardest part about the challenge?
Food!!! Restructuring your brain to relearn everything you’ve been taught… Like i said, I’ve done this challenge multiple times and every time I’m reminded why this program works. There’s no shortcuts to nutrition, either you stick to the program OR you don’t and you DON’T see the results.

Fastest time of the day! (2.0 Circuit Training)

“Momma B” — Fastest time of the day! (2.0 Circuit Training)

What motivates you to walk through that door day after day and continue to push yourself? My family… I want to be a strong role model to my kids, especially my daughters. I want them to see that hard work will get you further than shortcuts and that there’s no substitute for drive and determination. I want to be around to see them conquer their own obstacles in life with the same mindset! Most importantly want to be able to grow old with my husband, and you can’t do that if you don’t take care of yourself. He absolutely deserves to have the best version of me in his life, cause let’s be honest he helped me create this person… He’s always been my biggest supporter. Never allowing me to self sabotage or throw the scale thru the window!! Haha!! No seriously, life is too short as it is and I intend to not make it any shorter!

Check out Lynda’s 70-day (10-week) “selfie transformation”.

What’s one thing you still find yourself struggling with? Food!!! I could use the excuse, I love food too much but that’s been explained to me SO MANY times as not a valid excuses 😉 You can love food and still make the right choices of things to eat. You truly have to grasp that fact that this IS A LIFESTYLE… It’s not the end of the world if you dabble into the badlands (with food) but you CANNOT allowing yourself to live there!

What would your advice be to some considering doing a 10 week challenge? Do it… Not just for yourself but your your family, cause this challenge will change your life. It a whole new world when you open your mind and heart to what you can accomplish in 10 weeks! The sky truly is the limit…

Namaste!

Namaste!

Have you tried any other challenges (with our gym or another)- if so what made this one different? Like i said before I’ve done this challenge 2xs prior but this time was definitely different. There was more accountability with the tracking the workouts and the daily photos and weekly weigh ins, which I’ll be honest was a pain in the ass at times, but it without a doubt kept me on track. There were also weekly meal plans! I was SOOOOO EXCITED about the meal plans that Jessica created for us… It helped me remember the serving sizes that are acceptable when you’re eating the right things and that you can eat great food and not feel restricted! My mantra this challenge was Athletes Eat and Train — They don’t diet and exercise! For me this means more than just what it says… I truly feel like an Athlete after this challenge! I’m WAAAAAY stronger, toner, and faster than yesterday and I plan to continue this journey because I believe in myself! I AM AN ATHLETE!

What can we do better to help you actualize your true potential? This is a hard one cause I truly believe you’ve done an amazing job at creating a program that works… Please continue to keep bringing the fire and passion to everything that you do at your gyms. You truly are changing lives and I can’t stress that enough. For me personally keep challenging me to get better at everything I do, EVEN if you know I hate doing it… That normally means that I need it the most!

Share any relevant information you’d like about yourself that other team members might not know about you (also a good place to talk about any success you have had since joining the challenge)! I may seem like this comes easy to me but I’ve ALWAYS struggled with my weight and being healthy. Most people DON’T know that once stood at 5’0 and 200 lbs! This transformation did NOT happen overnight and has taken me about 10 yrs to get to where I am today… This challenge has brought me to the best shape of my life. I may not be at my lowest weight but I honestly don’t believe that the scale can truly measure ones accomplishments! I’m able to lift more than I’ve ever been able to before! I can do more push ups ON MY TOES than I ever could’ve imagined and can actually do pull ups without a band! I never envisioned these accomplishments for myself because prior to coming to CKO and 2.0 my only gauge of fitness was the scale… I now know that this can’t be measured by just that and THAT my friends is a TRUE accomplishment!!!

Having fun!

Halloween 2015 – -Having fun!

I am a firm believe in the phrase “if it is important to you, you will make time” and Lynda is living proof; if we want it bad enough, we will find a way! Congratulations Lynda, your work ethic and time management skills are amazing and highly motivational. Keep doing what you are doing!

10-Week Challenge (Lynda Beddall)

If there was a CKO Seattle Hall of Fame, Lynda Beddall would definitely have a spot. Why? Well, she has been with us from the beginning and was even an early adopter on our first challenge in which she made amazing progress. She then suffered some injuries, and had baby #5. Needless to say her circumstances took her out of the gym for quite sometime, however as soon as she got the chance, she came back and did it all over again!

Sept 2014 - Nov 2014

Sept 2014 – Nov 2014

Did you read that last paragraph? She has 5 kids! Yes 5 kids (that’s a basketball team) and yet, she somehow still finds the time improve her overall health and fitness! This is amazing especially when you consider that the “I have kids” excuse is one of the most popular. But if you know Lynda, you know that she is not about excuses, she is all about being strong, a strong mom, and a strong woman!

Lynda is not only a hall of fame member she is also an inspiration to not only myself but to many of the other members as well. Her ability to make time for her health is simply amazing! So thank you Lynda for always reminding me that, “where there is a will, there is a way”!

Over the last 10-weeks, Lynda made amazing progress, losing a total of 15.75-inches off her body! 4.5 of those coming off her waist and 4-inches (so 8-total) off her thighs! She also lost 11-lbs! However she did more than just lose, she also gained strength, she did 14 more push-ups, 16 more squats, took 20-secs off her shuttle run time, and increased her wall sit time by 7-mins!

To hear more about Lynda’s story ready below:

Besides being a CKO Superhero, what is your day job?

During the day I’m a property management accountant, BUT my most important job is being a mother to 5 amazing children and the wife to the most amazing and supportive man IN THE WORLD!

Do you have any hobbies?

Well, other than beating the bag 4-5 days a week. My true love is playing soccer! I’ve been playing since I was a kid and most of my adult life several days a week. Oh and when our Seattle weather cooperates, I like to play softball too!

#1 playing soccer

#1 playing soccer

How did you first learn of CKO?

My sister met Garett and Jessica back when they were first opening their doors and she told me about it… We went to one of their events after they opened and I signed up that day!

What are some of your fitness goals?

1) Is to be healthy!!! I want to live a long healthy life and show my kids what a strong healthy lifestyle is.

2) To be tone! I would love to be able to put on a dress or tank top and not feel self conscious about my arms… Mostly, I’d love to be able to wave and not have my arm to continue to wave when I stop, lol!!!

3) TO HAVE ABS!!! I don’t need a six pack, but I would love to have a flat stomach that screams, there’s NO WAY she has kids 😉

What is your favorite aspect of CKO?

The community… Knowing that I’m surrounded by people that are fighting the same fight to their fitness goals is HUGE! The environment is off the charts with energy and everyone is so supportive! Oh and the fact that most of the instructors have accomplished their fitness goals as members, so they know the obstacles we face and understand our journey from a personal level.

What was the best part about the challenge?

The knowledge! Learning about real food, fitness, and inches vs the scale. Learning what our bodies need for us to make our gains and learn why it didn’t work in the past. For me a huge obstacle was accepting that the scale does NOT gauge my results! If you give 100% effort and follow the guidelines, IT WILL WORK!!! Oh and of course the results 😉 Nothing makes you feel better than being able to make it into a piece of clothing that didn’t fit before or having people notice your results.

What was the hardest part about the challenge?

Relearning everything about food that I’ve been taught… Such as, ALL fat is bad, and that fruit is healthy! Also getting over peoples perception of what a healthy amount of food is. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been given crap about how much food I’m eating or about what I refuse to eat. I just stick to my guns and keep doing me, and guess what..? It works and now they want to try it!

What motivates you to walk through that door day after day and continue to push yourself?

My kids! I’m a strong believer in that they WILL mirror the things they see every day. I want nothing more than my kids to be armed with the knowledge of what a healthy lifestyle looks like. My kids are my world and I would hate for them to have to struggle with the same body image issues I did growing up.

Healthy and strong for her family!

Healthy and strong for her family!

What’s one thing you still find yourself struggling with?

Food… It would be unrealistic for me to say that after only 10 weeks I won’t ever eat, “such and such” again, but I will say that I will do my best to make this a life change! It’ll be a long life battle, but I know I can do it. The workouts are the easy part for me, but knowing that I don’t NEED that cake at my daughter’s birthday party or accepting that I don’t need to snack when I’m bored is always hard, BUT nothing worth fighting for is ever easy!

What can we do better to help you actualize your true potential?

I love the idea of the boot camps more regularly. I hate / love them! Continuing to have that option would really help me push it to the next level. What can I say… I secretly love Jessica’s fun house, lol! Also, the 21 day Eat Like the Renons is awesome… I can honestly say I haven’t missed one video and I love the insight on topics that I don’t even think about… Plus it’s a nice reminder that the Renon’s are human and not robots 😉 haha!

Share any relevant information you’d like about yourself that other CKO team members might not know about you (also a good place to talk about any success you have had since joining CKO)!

I started with CKO back in July of 2012 and was a part of the original 10-week challenge group. I had amazing results but wasn’t able to stay on track due to having another baby and rupturing both my Achilles muscles (playing soccer) in 2013. Now that was a ROUGH and humbling year for me and my fitness goals. With that being said, I’ve since done a lot of different activities like soccer, softball, boot camps, challenges, obstacle runs, weight loss groups / plans, etc… BUT none of them, and I do mean NONE of them gave me the results I’ve been able to achieve at CKO. I’m a strong believer in this place and what it stands for… It is not just a gym. It’s a community, it’s a team, and most importantly it’s a family! Being a part of the CKO family has changed my life! I can’t thank Jessica and Garett enough for challenging me and supporting me over the past 2 years! Even with all the highs and lows they have been nothing but positive and encouraging and have helped me change my life forever!
